The Process explores the day-to-day challenges of people making art and building creative businesses. It's part podcast and interview series, part journal.

We chat with people from a variety of creative fields including illustrators, designers, musicians, cafe owners, florists, yoga teachers, journalists, dancers, bakers, chefs, film makers, tech startup founders, and more.

The theme of the show is creative problem-solving. Though our focus in on the everyday process and challenges of creative work, we also talk about life things. We' cover relationships, love, loss, recovery, health, and anything that impacts how we grow and morph into our best selves.

Who am I?

👋 I'm Shannon. I'm a freelance writer, podcaster, marketer, and curator of things - mostly music. I've been helping startups and small businesses tell stories and build community for over eight years.

In October of 2014, I founded A Song A Day (asongaday.co) - a collective of curators sending hand-picked songs to people's inboxes daily. I also produce concerts, usually benefiting organizations like Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and Arts for LA.

I started The Process because I'm surrounded by inspiring, creative people doing badass things. I also hear a lot about their day to day challenges and what keeps them going. I realized that it was selfish to keep their stories to myself. The world needs to hear from them. So here we are.

I currently live in Portland, OR (sort of). I lived in Brooklyn, NY for a few years. I'm originally from St. Petersburg, FL. I'm obsessed with dogs, travel, mountains, ocean, tacos, coffee, kombucha, and seltzer.

My most listened to musical artists at this moment are: Kevin Morby, Angel Olsen, (Sandy) Alex G, Tonstartssbandht, Ty Segall, Bill Callahan, Sylvan Esso, Alex Cameron, and Aldous Harding. 🤙
